35 soldiers on active duty detained over Gülen links in Ankara-based operation

Ankara police detained some 35 gendarmerie forces personnel on active duty as part of two ongoing investigations on June 5 into the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ), which is accused of perpetrating the July 2016 coup attempt, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.  

The Ankara Chief Prosecutor's Office has reportedly said the operation was simultaneously launched in a total of 20 provinces.

Of the 35 detained, 16 are reportedly commissioned and 19 are non-commissioned officers.
