Scott: US not requesting Serbia to choose between EU, Russia

BELGRADE - The US is not requesting Serbia to choose between the EU and Russia - it strongly supports Serbia on its EU path and it does not believe this rules out good relations with Russia, says US Ambassador to Serbia Kyle Scott.

EU accession is not only a question of harmonising legislation to meet EU requirements - it is also a political process in which a candidate country must persuade the EU member states that its accession will contribute to the EU, which implies acceptance and implementation of common values, Scott told Novi magazin.
