Two of eight Romanians injured in road accident in Hungary, rushed to hospital

Romania's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) informed on Sunday, at the request of AGERPRES, that the road accident having occurred earlier in the day on National Road 42 in the county of Hajdu-Bihar, Hungary, when two motor vehicles registered in Romania colluded has grabbed the attention of the Consulate General of Romania in Gyula.

"The consular office has taken steps with the local authorities in order to obtain information on the identity of the persons affected and their health status. According to preliminary data obtained by the representatives of the consular office, eight Romanian citizens were injured in the accident. Six received care at the scene, and the other two were rushed to a medical unit in the area for, with serious injuries," says MAE.

According to MAE, a consular mobile team from the consular office went urgently to the scene of the accident to provide consular assistance. The consular team will also go to the medical facility where the two Romanian citizens were transported to obtain information on their health status.

An investigation into the circumstances of the accident is underway.

The Consulate General of Romania in Gyula continues to monitor the case, maintain contact with local authorities and provide consular assistance, according to the MAE.
