Vladimir Putin Goes to Belgrade with Tanks and Missiles

BELGRADE, June 29. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to visit Serbia in the coming autumn, Serbia's Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said on Friday.

"[Russian Foreign Minister Sergey] Lavrov told me the Russian president planned to go to Serbia this autumn," Dacic, who on Thursday returned from Moscow where he had talks with his Russian counterpart, he told the national television.

"It is a very important news and an important event, since Russia is Serbia's major ally concerning the Kosovo problem," he said.

The Kremlin has not yet announced this visit.

On June 12, Serbian President Aleksanadar Vucic congratulated the Russian people on the national holiday, Russia Day, and invited Putin to pay a visit to his country.

The Serbian newspapers say that Putin will bring  thirty modern T-72 tanks and modernized armored infantry machines that will be a gift to the Serbian army, and more importantly the powerful Panzir Air Defense System, which will will be sold to the government in Belgrade at "preferential" prices.
