Blackouts affecting many parts of Cyprus as power plant goes down

Many parts of Cyprus were left without power on Tuesday morning due to a technical malfunction at the Vasiliko plant.

According to Kathimerini Cyprus, the Cyprus Electricity Authority (EAC) has located the problem and is taking steps to rectify it.

EAC spokesperson Christina Papadopoulou said that the electricity in many areas has already been reinstated, though the extent of the problem was not immediately known.
