Cyprus Electricity Authority

In the past few days Cyprus has been hit by a series of major cyberattacks, targeting both government websites and critical internet infrastructure.

Six incidents have been recorded since Friday, affecting both public services and private businesses. These attacks, while disruptive, have so far been successfully countered.

Cyprus has yet to decide whether it will remain the last energy-isolated country in the EU or gain access to the European electricity market through Greece.

Many parts of Cyprus were left without power on Tuesday morning due to a technical malfunction at the Vasiliko plant.

According to Kathimerini Cyprus, the Cyprus Electricity Authority (EAC) has located the problem and is taking steps to rectify it.
