Canada’s First eSports Stadium Could Be A Real Game Changer

 

Following months of rumours and reports, Canada's first ever eSports Stadium has finally been given a speculative opening date. Located in Richmond, Vancouver, The Gaming Stadium will hopefully be opening on Friday 26 April.

A Temporary Solution, For Now

The professional gaming arena is currently owned by a Vancouver group named Myesports Venture Ltd, and its opening will mark a huge change in how gaming is seen in Canada. That said, the current arena will be a temporary stadium, while they continue with construction plans to build a permeant stadium starting in the summer.

Speaking to dailyhive.com, CEO of Myesports Dan Cybak said: "the last few months have been crazy!" He also went on to say that his colleagues have been running multiple trial events and really engaging with the local eSports communities in an attempt to ensure all upcoming events at The Gaming Stadium will run smoothly. Already, Myesports has run trial events focusing on some of the most popular eSports games in the world, including CS:GO, League of Legends and Fortnite.

Canada Loves Gaming - Especially Casinos

The success of the temporary stadium and all the events held there will have an impact on whether a permeant arena will be built. Having run so many trial events so far though, there's no reason to think that The Gaming Arena won't be a hit. After all, eSports is incredibly popular all around the world and Canada loves gaming of all kinds.
