Grigor Dimitrov Withdraws of the Masters in Indian Wells

Grigor Dimitrov has dropped out of the Indian Wells masters, Tennis Cafe reported, citing the manager of the tennis player Georgi Stoimenov. The cause is again pain in the shoulder.

The Bulgarian, 28th in the world, has already missed the Rotterdam and Acapulco tournaments because of the trauma, but was expected to return to the court for the Indian Wells race.

Dimitrov was preparing for his eighth consecutive participation in Indian Wells, one of his most uncomfortable tournaments. So far, the Bulgarian has not passed the third round and has not even managed to record two consecutive victories in the race.

His debut was in 2012 when he won against Ivan Dodig in the first round and in the second lost to David Ferrer. In his next three appearances, Dimitrov retired after his second match, recording losses against Novak Djokovic, Ernests Gulbis and Tommy Robredo respectively.

Last year Dimitrov dropped out after his first match after Fernando Verdasco's loss, and now he had to defend just 10 points for the rankings.

For the last time, the Bulgarian tennis player played at the Australian Open, where he was eliminated in the eighth finals after losing by the American Francis Tiafo. Dimitrov has only seven games in 2019, recording five wins and two defeats. His other loss was Kai Nishikori in the quarterfinals in Brisbane.
