In Memoriam: We Have Lost Tatyana the Great, Remarkable Actress Died Aged 87

The great Tatiana Lolova has passed away at the age of 87. The sad news was first reported by the actress's close friend Prof. Ivaylo Turnev, neurologist at Alexandrovska Hospital.

We lost Tatyana Lolova - a great and unique artist, a fascinating person and a friend. Tanya, you stay in my heart forever. And we wish you a bright heavenly path to the stars, Turnev wrote on Facebook.

The favorite acress of many generations of Bulgarians Lolova was born on 10 February 1934 in the Bulgarian capital city of Sofia. Her mother was of Russian-Ukrainian descent. Her father Zhelyazko Lolov was an accountant. Tatyana enrolled in the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts where she graduated in 1955. After the graduation, she was appointed in Ruse Theatre, where Lolova remained until the end of 1956 when she joined the troupe of the newly founded Satirical Theatre Aleko Konstantinov in Sofia.

He also performed on the stage of Theatre 199, where he celebrated 10 years of the hit one-actor show Duende based on lyrics by Rumyana Apostolova, Lorca and others, directed by Sani Saninski - more than 300 performances have been given in Bulgaria and abroad. Lolova also stars in the 2017 productions of "Old-Fashioned Comedy" by Alexei Arbuzov and "I Can't Remember Anything" by Arthur Miller.

Her prints can be seen on the Wall of Fame in front of Theater 199.

Lolova was married to Svetoslav Svetoslavov from 1963 until his death on December 26, 2018.
