Partizan beat Fuenlabrada in open-air basketball friendly
BELGRADE - Partizan Belgrade defeated Spanish outfit Fuenlabrada 93-63 (24-13, 26-15, 23-13, 20-22) in a basketball friendly at Belgrade's Tasmajdan open air stadium on Wednesday evening.
Due to an enormous gap in quality between the two teams, the outcome of the game was a foregone conclusion and, at times, the home fans - who filled the venue to capacity - were sent into raptures by spectacular plays by Partizan players.
Captain Kevin Punter led the scoring for Partizan with 14 points and Frank Kaminsky and Alen Smailagic added 13 and 12 points, respectively.
Former Partizan player Petar Aranitovic stood out for Fuenlabrada with 14 points.
Partizan fans have had an emotional attachment to Fuenlabrada since the 1991/1992 season, when the Black-And-Whites became European champions under the stewardship of current head coach Zeljko Obradovic.
