Banjska remains sealed off after Sunday's clashes

BANJSKA - The Banjska village in the Zvecan municipality in the north of Kosovo-Metohija remains sealed off after Sunday's deadly clashes that followed an attempt by a group of Serbs to block a road in the village.

Three Serbs and one officer of the so-called Kosovo Police were killed in the clashes.

A police officer manning a checkpoint at an entrance to the village told Tanjug forensic teams were in the village and that the situation would return to normal after a crime scene investigation.

All three access routes to Banjska - leading from Zvecan, Zubin Potok and a Kosovska Mitrovica-Leposavic trunk road - are blocked.

Kosovo-Metohija can still not be entered via the Jarinje and Brnjak administrative crossings, which, however, can be used to leave the territory.
