Border police arrests four alleged traffickers

Border police in northeastern Greece blocked four separate attempts by illegal migrants to cross into the country on Friday and Saturday and arrested a total of four traffickers, all foreign nationals.

In the first two cases on Friday morning, two of the arrested men tried to cross the Kipoi border point in Evros with trucks. During an inspection, police officers of the Passport Control Department of Kipoi of the Alexandroupoli Police Directorate found migrants hiding inside - 31 people in one and 29 in the other.

On Friday evening on the Ormeni-Ardani National Road, officers of the Border Guard Department of Didymoteicho of the Orestiada Police Directorate arrested a third trafficker, who was illegally transporting two illegal migrants in a truck.
