Brnabic: Sretenje Constitution proclaimed freedom, independence as our fundamental values

KRAGUJEVAC - Serbian PM Ana Brnabic said on Thursday the 1835 Serbian Constitution, also known as the Sretenje (The Meeting of the Lord) Constitution, had proclaimed freedom, independence and peacefulness as the fundamental values of Serbs.

"The ideas and ideals enshrined in the Sretenje Constitution proclaimed publicly and with determination the fundamental values that have been a legacy for our Serbian people for centuries now. Freedom, independence and peacefulness are just a few of the ideals deftly enshrined in the Sretenje Constitution," Brnabic said in a speech at a Sretenje ceremony in Kragujevac, central Serbia.

The ceremony took place in the city's Old Assembly building, in which the Sretenje Constitution was adopted in 1835.
