Djokovic outlasts Cerundolo to advance to Roland Garros quarters
PARIS - Serbia's Novak Djokovic, the world number one in men's tennis singles, is through to the Roland Garros quarter-finals after coming from behind to defeat Argentine Francisco Cerundolo 6-1, 5-7, 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 in the fourth round on Monday evening.
Djokovic, who won after four hours and 37 minutes of play, is now 1-0 head-to-head against world number 27 Cerundolo.
It was a record 370th career Grand Slam victory for Djokovic, who surpassed Roger Federer, who won 369 Grand Slam matches.
At the beginning of the second set, Djokovic requested medical attention for problems with his right knee.
In the quarter-finals, he will face Norwegian Casper Ruud.
