Opening Ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games: Thousands of Pearls for Céline Dion’s Custom Dior Look

One of the most touching moments of the Opening Ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games was undoubtedly when Céline Dion took the stage, years after her last appearance due to severe health problems following her diagnosis with Stiff-Person Syndrome.

The 56-year-old singer performed “Hymne À L’Amour” from the top of the world, the top of the Eiffel Tower. Naturally, such an appearance demanded a luxurious signature, and in this case, it was Dior with a haute couture, custom-made look by Maria Grazia Chiuri: a dress made from thousands of pearls and fringes measuring over 500 meters in total length. A pair of diamond earrings added extra sparkle to the ensemble.

Dion had her hair styled in a low bun, highlighting her bold smoky eye look. Her makeup was subtly complemented with a nude lipstick.

Just before the Opening Ceremony, in an interview, she seemed determined not to let anything ruin this dream. She said: “I will return to the stage even if I have to crawl, even if I have to speak with my hands. I will do it. I am Céline Dion. Because today my voice will be heard for the first time, not because I have to or need to, but because I want to and I miss it.”
