The Greek champion left no room for Kovinić to respond, with the Montenegrin managing to win only one game in the entire match, as she couldn’t be competitive at any point.

In the 2nd round, Sakkari will face the winner of the match between Alexandrova (a Russian competing as a neutral) and Yuan (China).

It is worth noting that the match was attended by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and his wife, Mareva.
