Lamia: 47-year-old man was stalking his former partner, violating the restraining order against her

A 47-year-old man was found guilty of intimate threats against his ex-girlfriend, whom he was stalking in violation of restrictive measures imposed on him.

According to Lamia Report’s information, the accusedwas constantly stalking his former partner after their separation. After being given a restraining order the first time he was made aware of his actions, the 47-year-old violated the terms of the court order for the second time, which prohibited him from approaching the girl within 800 meters. In particular, she allegedly saw him on the afternoon of Monday 29 July following her in his car and reported him to the police.

The 47-year-old sat on Wednesday afternoon (31/7) in the dock of the Autonomous Single Member Plenary Court of Lamia, in order to apologize for the above acts.

As she testified, the 47-year-old man is constantly watching her and she constantly finds him in front of her, which causes her terror.

For his part, the 47-year-old claimed that he does not deal with her and that he goes to Lamia (he is a resident of a neighboring municipality) only for business.

The Court decided that the defendant is guilty of the acts of domestic threat and violation of a court decision and imposed a total sentence of 17 months in prison and serving part of the sentence, i.e. 60 days. However, he gave suspensive effect to his appeal – despite the prosecutor’s suggestion to the contrary – with the restrictive condition of appearing at the AT of his residence on the 1st five days of every month.
