Digital labor card reveals more overtime

The digital labor card is evolving into a powerful weapon in the battle against undeclared overtime work, and consequently in favor of improving workers' incomes.

As Minister of Labor and Social Security Niki Kerameus revealed on Tuesday, in almost all sectors where the measure has been applied, an increase in declared overtime was observed. She also attributed this element to the growth of the economy on the one hand and, on the other, to the introduction of the digital card, which leads to the recording of real working time.

Indeed, the data from the Ergani database show that since 2022, when the pilot application of the digital card began, there has been a steady increase in declared overtime, without ignoring the contribution of the increase in turnover and employment in the specific sectors.
