Greeks have changed their consumer habits due to rising prices, survey shows
According to a survey conducted by the General Confederation of Consumers of Greece and released on Tuesday, Greeks have significantly changed their consumption habits due to rising prices, especially for food and utilities.
Of those surveyed, 68.9% said they were very affected by price increases over the past year, while 25.4% said they were somewhat affected.
The most noticeable price increases were in food, followed by energy, fuel, housing, services and transportation.
Overall, 96% of respondents said they had changed their consumption habits due to price increases, with the majority cutting back on entertainment.
In addition, 92.7% of respondents said that price increases had negatively affected their quality of life and 94.1% said they had reduced spending on entertainment, health and education.
