An earthquake measuring 3.1 on the Richter scale occurred near Methoni, off Messinia, at noon on Wednesday.

According to the Geodynamic Institute, the earthquake occurred at 12:32 p.m. and was centered 32 km south of Methoni, south-southwest of Strophades. The focal depth of the earthquake is estimated at 10 km.
