Memorial for Greek student killed in Jaffa attack held in Thessaloniki

A memorial service was held at the Church of Hagia Sophia in Thessaloniki, northern Greece, on Saturday in memory of 26-year-old Greek student Ionas Karussis, who was killed on Tuesday with six others in a Palestinian shooting attack in Jaffa, Israel. 

The service coincided with his funeral in Jerusalem. Relatives, friends and the victim's girlfriend attended the memorial, along with members of the Terpni Association of Thessaloniki, representing the victim's grandfather, Dr Minas Karussis. 

"Some crazy terrorists shot him while he was out doing his work. May our child rest in peace," the victim's uncle, George Karussis told the press.
