Cyprus: Informal dinner between Christodoulides and Tatar on Tuesday in New York

The informal dinner between the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot leaders, in the presence of the UN Secretary-General, will take place next Tuesday at 7:00 PM at the UN headquarters in New York, according to UN Deputy Spokesman Farhan Haq during a press briefing.

“The informal dinner will be held here, at the UN headquarters, at 7:00 PM. We are working on organizing media coverage for photo opportunities that day,” Haq stated.

Earlier on Friday, the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, emphasized during a press conference following the MED9 summit in Paphos that the Cyprus issue is recognized as a European problem. The President, alongside the leaders of the Mediterranean EU member states, also discussed regional developments, reiterating that their common goal remains to end any hostilities and create conditions for the resumption of the political process concerning the Middle East.
