Weather update: Sharp drop in temperature with gusty north winds today

From yesterday, temperatures noticeably dropped, bringing a more autumn-like feel to the weather. This cooling trend is expected to continue through Sunday, with some areas experiencing the chilliest conditions of the month. However, the weather is set to ease by Monday, and temperatures will gradually rise again.

Meanwhile, strong northerly winds, reaching up to 8 Beaufort, will affect the central and southern Aegean Sea until noon. According to EMY Director Thodoris Kolydas, these winds will weaken tomorrow but are expected to pick up again later in the week. Additionally, some rainfall is forecasted for central and northern regions.

Intensified northerly winds on Thursday 17/10 – Gusts exceeded 100 km/h in Tinos

According to the network of automatic weather stations of meteo.gr / National Observatory of Athens enhanced northerly winds that prevailed in eastern Greece, the Aegean Sea, and Crete on Thursday 17/10. The strongest wind gust was recorded at the weather station in Porto Tinos and was equal to 101 km/h.
