Israel: At least 35 injured, 6 seriously, near Tel Aviv – Truck crashes into bus stop (videos)

At least 35 people were injured on Sunday morning when a truck crashed into a bus stop near Glilot in central Israel.

The police have deployed large forces in the area, located north of Tel Aviv, and have asked drivers to avoid passing through the scene.

The Israeli emergency service initially announced that it was treating dozens of injured people. “At 10:08 (local time and Greek time), we were informed (…) that a truck crashed into a bus stop on Aharon Yariv Avenue in Ramat Hasharon. Emergency service teams are currently providing care to dozens of victims at the scene,” stated Magen David Adom, Israel’s ambulance service.

In a subsequent announcement, Magen David Adom reported that 35 injured people had been taken to the hospital, with six in serious condition.

Local media reported that several of the injured were retirees who had just disembarked from a bus at the stop to visit a museum in the area.

According to the Times of Israel, authorities are investigating the incident as a potential terrorist act.

The Glilot area hosts the headquarters of Mossad, along with several intelligence units of the IDF, including the high-profile signals intelligence team, Unit 8200.
