Sheep and goat pox: 133 outbreaks and 24,064 animal deaths

As of the latest data, 27 new cases of sheep and goat pox were identified in the past week up until Friday, October 25, according to sources from the Ministry of Rural Development.

From Friday to today, there are suspicions of five additional cases, along with two confirmed infections in Pyrgetos, Larissa, and Keramidi, Magnesia.

In total, 133 outbreaks have been identified, leading to 24,064 slaughters. Ministry sources estimate that the measures will begin to show significant impact moving forward.

Following the 10-day period of restrictions, concluding on October 31, the Ministry of Rural Development intends to reassess the situation and lift restrictions in areas with no cases.
