Kasselakis: ‘I will not remain in an anti-democratic party’

Just hours before SYRIZA's extraordinary congress, which could determine the future of the deeply divided opposition, former president Stefanos Kasselakis hinted at the possibility of forming a new party if he fails to regain control.

"I will not remain in an anti-democratic party," Kasselakis stated on Mega TV Friday morning, adding that his close advisors are urging him to establish his own political group.

Kasselakis, who was ousted by his party's central committee through a no-confidence motion in September, has accused his rivals within the party of manipulating internal mechanisms to block his return to the leadership.
