Man arrested in connection with Pangrati arms cache

The suspect had been allegedly paying rent to the owners of the warehouse. He was brought earlier on Thursday to the offices of the police counter-terrorism unit to be questioned.

According to information from Kathimerini, the suspect is a philologist who worked at a tutoring center.

The arms cache was discovered on Tuesday, and authorities were able to track down the renter. Reports indicate that he had been paying €50 per month, depositing the amount via an automated transaction machine.

The warehouse was originally rented in 2008 using forged identity documents. The renter had informed the property owner that the space was needed to store books. Rent payments continued systematically until this November.
