Winter is coming to Greece

A cold front will bring wintery weather across Greece this weekend, with rain, storms, a drop in temperatures, and snow at higher elevations. 

According to the National Meteorological Service (EMY), the southern winds, reaching up to force 8 in the northern Aegean, will bring wet conditions to the Dodecanese, Ionian, and mainland regions.

In Attica, skies will be mostly cloudy, with occasional rain expected in the west and north early in the day, clearing by afternoon. Winds will be strong, with gusts reaching force 7 in southern areas. Temperatures will range from 17C to 23C, cooling in the evening. Thessaloniki and northern Greece will experience more severe weather, with rain, storms, and snow at higher altitudes.

Temperatures of 8 to 10C are expected in Alexandroupoli, Thessaloniki, Ioannina, and Mytilene on Sunday. In Florina, the temperature is expected...
