Trump endorses Florida CFO Jimmy Patronis to replace Matt Gaetz

President-elect Donald Trump announced Monday that he has endorsed Florida's Greek-American Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis to replace Matt Gaetz in the US House of Representatives.

It's a move that could increase pressure on Gov. Ron DeSantis to choose allies for the president-elect and other vacant positions, HellasJournal reported.

Gaetz stepped down from his seat in the House earlier this month after Trump had nominated him to lead the Department of Justice. Last week, he withdrew his bid for attorney general after allegations of sexual misconduct.

If elected, Patronis will be the seventh Greek-American House representative.
