HEREMA gets EEA grants for underground facilities
The Hellenic Hydrocarbons and Energy Resources Management Company (HEREMA) received a grant through the EEA Grants funded by Iceland, Lichtenstein and Norway to draw up safety regulations at underground carbon dioxide storage facilities.
The project applying for the funding is named "Safety regulations for offshore underground gas storage (CO2) and wind farm projects, as well as modern technologies and solutions in the field of floating wind farms adapted to Greek conditions" and its duration is from November 2024 to February 2025. It is HEREMA's second project to be funded by EEA Grants, aiming again at the transfer of Norwegian technological know-how in the development of energy sectors, within the European green transition framework.
Commenting, HEREMA said that Greece is preparing for a multilevel process to license and supervise underground gas storage facilities...
