Tsunis: US ties deepening

US Ambassador George Tsunis expressed confidence that Athens-Washington relations will continue to strengthen under President Donald Trump. 

In an interview with state broadcaster ERT, Tsunis revealed that President Joe Biden also wishes to visit Greece. He noted that he can't speak to Trump's intentions, but history is a good guide, highlighting that during Trump's first term, US-Greece relations strengthened and deepened. Tsunis praised Marco Rubio as an excellent choice for secretary of state, understanding the region and the importance of US-Greece relations and Greece's role in NATO as a stabilizing factor. 

Tsunis also described his tenure in Athens as the greatest honor of his life.
