PASOK hails ‘significant victory’ in 2025 budget over banking measures
PASOK responded to Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis' announcement of measures targeting banks in the 2025 budget, calling it a "significant parliamentary victory" for Greece's main opposition party.
The socialist party had consistently pressured the government to legislate on the issue, but the administration had hesitated, citing limited room for maneuver.
"For two years, Mr Mitsotakis has acted like Pontius Pilate in the face of the banks' profiteering," PASOK leader Nikos Androulakis stated in Parliament following the budget's approval.
He vowed that PASOK would continue its "path of productive and meaningful opposition, ensuring the government remains consistently accountable for its actions."
