EODY report sees delays in MMR vaccinations in Greece

Greek parents delay the completion of children's vaccinations against diseases such as whooping cough or MMR, while there are differences in vaccination coverage between regions in the country, a study by the National Public Health Organization (EODY) has shown.

The study used data from the IDIKA prescription database, included children born from 1/1/2018 to 12/31/2022 and examined the vaccines they had received up to and including September 30, 2024.

It showed 94.4% of children had received at least three doses of the diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis vaccine, while 87.2% had received four doses. 86% of children were fully vaccinated against measles (93.8% had received the first dose) and 82.4% against chickenpox. Another 2.35% of children had not received any vaccinations by September 2024.
