Man cleared of teenage girl’s false ‘sexual assault’ claim
A 22-year-old man was acquitted Wednesday after a 14-year-old girl admitted to falsely accusing him of sexual assault.
The girl confessed in court that she fabricated the allegations out of revenge when she learned the man was involved with another woman.
The accusations, made in September 2021, came two months after the supposed incident, and the girl had lied about her age, claiming she was 16.
In a statement, the girl's father apologized to the accused, confirming his daughter's confession.
The court accepted the prosecution's recommendation, clearing the man of charges and lifting all restrictions.
