Crete-Attica electrical interconnection passes final test

Ariadne Interconnection, a subsidiary of the Independent Power Transmission Operator (ADMIE), has successfully completed the site acceptance test (SAT) for the cable system of the Crete-Attica electrical interconnection at the Koumoundouros Converter Station (Aspropyrgos), ADMIE sources reported on Wednesday.

During the technical test, Ariadne engineers charged the two poles of the cable system, of a total length of 380 kilometers, from one end of the interconnection to the other (Koumoundouros Converter Station-Damasta Converter Station), verifying that the cable is functioning properly along its entire length. The construction phase of the project was completed in December and its launch is expected in the spring.
