€2 bln spent on income realty in 2024

Investment activity in the income property sector amounted to 1.97 billion euros in 2024, with most transactions concerning domestic investors and buyers.

According to an analysis by real estate services company Proprius, the amount of transactions was slightly lower (by 2.5%) than that of 2023, when it had amounted to €2.02 billion. More than 50% of the investments, or €1.1 billion, were directed toward the acquisition of hotel properties.

One of the largest transactions of 2024 was the sale of the Grand Hyatt Athens by the Hines-Henderson Park consortium to the Blackstone investment group. The hotel on Syngrou Avenue was transferred for an amount of €230 million.
