Greece welcomes record 2 mln French tourists in 2024

Greece welcomed approximately 2 million travelers from France alone in 2024, for the first time ever, Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni told the Delphi Paris Forum on Thursday.

Yet despite the historically high performance for all of Greek tourism, the minister underlined that the Greek government is not resting on its laurels.

Instead, Athens is pursuing the qualitative development of tourism with a balance between economic progress, the well-being of local communities and the promotion of culture and technology.

The strategy includes actions to highlight cultural heritage, promote agritourism, gastronomy and sustainable development in maritime and mountainous areas of Greece, Kefalogianni said in Paris.
