Filipovic, Bogdanovic claim OCS best athlete awards

BELGRADE - The Olympic Committee of Serbia (OCS) on Thursday named male water polo player Filip Filipovic and female taekwondist Tijana Bogdanovic the best Serbian athletes for 2016.

With the national team, Filipovic won the European Championship, the World League and the long-awaited Olympic gold, as well as the Champions League with his club, Italy's Pro Recco.

'No Information' on Bulgarian Woman Wounded in Istanbul Nightclub - Ambassador

There is no up-do-date information on the condition of the Bulgarian national hurt in New Year's attack in a nightclub in Istanbul, Sofia's Ambassador to Ankara has said.

Speaking to private NOVA TV broadcaster, Nadezhda Neynski has noted she will pay a visit to the hospital where the Bulgarian woman underwent surgery.

January 'to Be Colder Than Usual' in Bulgaria

The month of January will be colder than what has been measured in previous years, Bulgarian meteorologists say.

While the first couple of days will be sunny and temperatures will pick up, snowfall will have begun by Thursday and will continue intermittently through Saturday, a National Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) official has told private NOVA TV broadcaster.

Turkey was shaken once again in the first hours of 2017, as one of Istanbul's jet set nightclubs was raided by a gunman who killed 39 and wounded 65 people, four of whom are in a critical condition.

Memorable moments
