SNS-led coalition wins 45 seats in Novi Sad city assembly - commission

NOVI SAD - In Sunday's elections for the Novi Sad city assembly, a coalition around the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) won 52.55 pct of 100 pct of votes counted (87,791), or 45 seats in the legislature, the city election commission said in an official report on the preliminary election results.

New High-Speed Patrol Cars Boost Bulgarian Traffic Police Fleet

Red Star take lead in play-off final series of Serbian basketball Super League

BELGRADE - Defending champions Red Star Belgrade defeated arch-rivals Partizan 89-88 at home in Game 1 of the play-off final series of the Serbian basketball Super League on Monday evening.

At a packed Aleksandar Nikolic Hall, Dejan Davidovac led the scoring for Red Star with 23 points and Yago dos Santos added 18.

Suspicious suitcase on Syntagma Square found empty

Downtown Athens' Syntagma Square was briefly closed on Tuesday morning as police investigated a suspicious suitcase for a possible bomb.

The suitcase raised suspicions as it had been sitting unattended on the corner of Karageorgi Servias and Voulis streets for some time.
