Minister announces increased police presence on Attica beaches

Minister of Citizen Protection, Michalis Chrysochoidis, announced on Tuesday an increase in police presence on the beaches of Attica.

"In a few days, OPKE and motorcycle police will be deployed to the beaches," said Chrysochoidis during an TV interview.

Djokovic withdraws from Roland Garros due to knee injury

PARIS - Serbia's Novak Djokovic, the world number one in men's tennis singles, has withdrawn from Roland Garros due to a knee injury, the tournament organisers announced on Tuesday.

Djokovic defeated Argentine Francisco Cerundolo 6-1, 5-7, 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 in the fourth round on Monday.

He experienced pain in his right knee during the match.

Renowned Italian sculptor Novello Finotti will showcase his work for the first time in Athens at the B&M Theocharakis Foundation for Fine Arts and Music (1 Merlin). The retrospective exhibition, titled "Novello Finotti: The Sensual Mysticism of Sculpture," features over 65 pieces. Opening on June 4, at 8.30 p.m., the exhibition will be inaugurated by Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni.

Momirovic: Large Japanese business delegation due in Belgrade in October

TOKYO - Serbian Minister of Internal and External Trade Tomislav Momirovic said on Tuesday in Tokyo the level of Serbia-Japan trade was significant after reaching 330 mln euros last year, but that the goal was for it to exceed 1 bln euros a year in the coming years.
