ICT bolsters the Cypriot economy

Almost all of the productivity growth in Cyprus' economy over the past three years can be attributed to the information and communication technology (ICT) sector, according to the third Competitiveness Report of the Cypriot Economy released by the Cyprus Economy and Competitiveness Council (CEC).

New Covid shots recommended for Americans six months and older this fall

All Americans ages 6 months and older should receive one of the new COVID-19 vaccines when they become available this fall, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Thursday.

The recommendation comes as the nation faces a summer wave of COVID, with the number of infections rising in at least 39 states and territories.

Launch of new bridge for Greek-Chinese exchanges of all forms

The Chinese Embassy in Athens hosted on Friday the launching event of the Sino-Hellenic Information Post (S.H.I.P.), a new platform designed to promote Greek-Chinese business and cultural relations and facilitate the mutual understanding of the two cultures, while offering information and insight in Greek and Mandarin.

Anti-pride demo organizer arrested

A 34-year-old who was arrested for urging a demonstration against Europride in Thessaloniki will remain in custody until Monday, a court decided on Friday. 

Defying a police ban on the demo, the man invited people during an interview with a local radio station to participate. The single-member Misdemeanor Court of Thessaloniki adjourned the case until Monday.

It should not be news that the Averof building, the historic headquarters of the National Technical University of Athens, formerly the Athens Polytechnic, and an important city landmark, was scrubbed clean - or at least half of it was.

ATHEX: Bourse up 8.6% in January-June

Greek stocks posted a moderate rebound at the end of a week that overall showed a decline. The benchmark had a promising start to the day, but buyers soon ran out of fuel and most stocks had to settle for only a small recovery after three consecutive days of price declines.
