Romania's weightlifter Molie wins silver, bronze at Batumi EWF Championships

Romanian female athlete Madalina Bianca Molie won a silver medal and a bronze medal on Wednesday in the women's 71-kg category of the European Weightlifting Federation (EWF) Senior Championships in Batumi, Georgia. Molie won the silver for a 101-kg snatch, underperforming Russian Anastasia Romanova's 112-kg snatch.

Russian-Greek cosmonaut Yurchikhin Grammatikopoulos to make 6h space walk

 

Russian cosmonaut of Greek descent Fyodor Nikolayevich Yurchikhin Grammatikopoulos will make a six-hour walk outside the ISS space station where he has been since April.

NASA TV will broadcast live the cosmonaut’s trip. The broadcast is schedule to start at 17:00 (Athens time) on Thursday 17 August.

Greek-flagged vessel runs aground in Dardanelles Strait

A Greek-flagged vessel ran aground in Turkey's Dardanelles Strait for unknown reasons on July 18, a source from Turkey's ship traffic authority said.

The "Kriti Sea" ship, a 183-meter-long (600-foot) vessel, reportedly ran aground off the cape of Nara, said the source from the Turkish Straits Vessel Traffic Service.

Turkish PM Yıldırım set to visit Georgia

Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım will pay a one-day visit to Georgia on March 15, according to Turkish Prime Ministry sources. 

The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Yıldırım will travel to the coastal Georgian city of Batumi in the evening after addressing a public rally in the Turkish Black Sea province of Artvin.
