Marching bands perform on streets to boost locals’ morale
As Turkish citizens have locked themselves in their homes to avoid getting infected with the novel coronavirus, marching bands of some local authorities have started giving street concerts in order to boost their morale.
Interest grows in İzmir's oldest settlement
Visitors have been flocking to İzmir's Yeşilova Mound, a site that proves that settlements in the city date back 8,500 years.
The head of the Yeşilova Mound excavations, academic Zafer Derin, told the Doğan News Agency that the mound had been visited by 36,000 people in two years.

Greenpeace praises Bornova Municipality of İzmir over photovoltaic facility
A photovoltaic facility constructed by İzmir's Bornova Municipality has attracted plaudits from environmentalist group Greenpeace, Doğan News Agency has reported.
The facility, consisting of 250 solar panels, is part of a project that was launched to make better use of energy sources.
