Two gunmen were shot dead May 3 and a security guard wounded outside a Prophet Mohammed cartoon contest in Texas, authorities said, as a bomb squad investigated the gunmen's car.

Roy Tarpley, the former Dallas Mavericks star center whose NBA career was cut short by drug abuse, died Friday. He was 50.
Tarpley had played in Greece for Olympiakos as well as Aris and Iraklis in Thessaloniki.
LA Clippers trade Turkish guard to 76ers
The Los Angeles Clippers have traded guard Jared Cunningham along with the draft rights to Turkish guard Cenk Akyol and cash to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for the draft rights to Serhiy Lishchuk.

Teodosic among top five players in Europe
BELGRADE - Serbian basketball player Milos Teodosic, who is a member of the national team and CSKA from Moscow, has been named one of the top five players in Europe in 2014 by Eurohoops.
This portal says Teodosic led Serbia to an unexpected final of the world championship in Spain, where he played extremely well.
