Pepi Loulakaki met Bahar years ago, when she was just 12 years old and selling flowers in downtown Athens' Plaka district. Bahar would often pop into the older photographer's home to rest her weary feet from walking around the streets selling gardenias to romancing couples. They gradually became friends and started to learn each other's language.

Girl dies after wall collapses on her
A six-year-old girl from northern Greece has died after a wall collapsed on her.
The child, from the village of Drosero, was rushed to Xanthi general hospital on Friday night by her parents with serious head injuries.

Vendetta feared in Xanthi after murder, burning of houses
Greek authorities on Tuesday feared that the murder of a man in a village of Xanthi, northern Greece, could spark a vendetta between two families, after two houses belonging to the alleged perpetrator and his brother were set on fire on Monday night.
The fire service said the fires in the two houses were caused by arson but no suspects have been detained.
Four schools closed in Xanthi after teacher tests positive for coronavirus
Four schools in the city of Xanthi and the nearby borough of Drosero in northeastern Greece were closed for 10 days on Wednesday after a teacher who works in all four tested positive for coronavirus.
The man, who's from the village of Echinos, is currently asymptomatic and has ben instructed to remain at home. The teaching staff at the four schools will also be tested.
