Extensive testing to continue in Xanthi, says health ministry expert
Teams from the National Health Organization (EODY) will remain in the regional unit of Xanthi, in northeastern Greece, to conduct more tests for the coronavirus in an ongoing effort to halt its spread in the area, Health Ministry adviser and infectious disease professor Sotiris Tsiodras said on Friday, following a visit to the region.

Four schools closed in Xanthi after teacher tests positive for coronavirus
Four schools in the city of Xanthi and the nearby borough of Drosero in northeastern Greece were closed for 10 days on Wednesday after a teacher who works in all four tested positive for coronavirus.
The man, who's from the village of Echinos, is currently asymptomatic and has ben instructed to remain at home. The teaching staff at the four schools will also be tested.
Six more deaths from Covid-19, total number of cases rises to 1,755
Greece's Health Ministry announced on Monday 20 new coronavirus infections, with the total now at 1,755.
In his regular press conference, ministry spokesman and infectious disease expert Sotiris Tsiodras said six more fatalities from Covid-19 were recorded over the past 24 hours raising the total to 79.
Erdogan's son, daughter-in-law in NE Greece this Sunday
The son of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Ergodan, Bilal, and the latter’s wife, will arrive in the northeast Greece city of Xanthi on Sunday to attend a Muslim religious ceremony in the nearby village of Echinos.
The report was disseminated on Friday by Turkish media.
