Fire destroys former war museum in Hania, Crete
A massive, rapidly spreading fire broke out Sunday evening at the old Italian barracks that used to house the War Museum in Hania, on the island of Crete's west end, and has almost completely destroyed the building.
There were no reports of injuries.

Greeks seek affordable holiday destinations

Authorities in the island of Crete have arrested a Spanish man for attempting to loot an archaeological site near the town of Hania.
A guard spotted the 44-year-old who was using a metal detector at the site of Falassarna, an ancient harbor town on the island's northwest coast, and alerted the police who arrested the suspect.

Migrant boat to be towed to Crete's Souda Bay after issuing SOS
A vessel carrying some 120 migrants and refugees was to be towed to Souda Bay on the Greek island of Crete after issuing an SOS signal.
Coast guard officers responded to the call for help on Thursday morning, which came 28 nautical miles off the coast of Hania in the north.
