Ice-bound Majdanpek still without electricity (PHOTOS)

MAJDANPEK -- Power has not yet been restored to the the town of Majdanpek in eastern Serbia, four days after high winds and thick layers of ice disrupted the grid.

MAJDANPEK -- The town of Majdanpek in eastern Serbia has been left without electricity and other basic infrastructure for three days now due to severe winter weather.

Torrential rain and strong winds have caused power outages in parts of Montenegro and Serbia. 

A large part of Montenegro, including the capital Podgorica, was left in darkness for hours on Monday due to the failure of the electricity network. Power company Montenegrin Electric Transmission System said on Tuesday that it had deployed all its available teams to repair the damage.

BELGRADE - Serbian police evacuated around 370 people from the flood hit areas in the municipality of Kladovo, eastern Serbia, late on Monday.

Around 300 people were evacuated from Tekija, including a woman and her one-and-a-half months old baby, Serbian Ministry of the Interior (MUP) said in a release.

Torrential rain cuts off roads in eastern Serbia

KLADOVO -- Heavy rain caused flash floods and triggered landslides in town of Kladovo, eastern Serbia, and in several villages in its vicinity.

MAJDANPEK - Serbian Progressive Party (SNS)leader Aleksandar Vucic has said that Serbia needs to have peace and stability, to be on the road to the EU and to have the best possible co-operation with the Russian Federation.
