This figure is higher than previous estimates, according to a study published in the scientific journal Science, BTA reported.

Two Men Charged Over 'Christmas Terror Plot'

Two men have been charged with terrorism offences by police who had been investigating a suspected Christmas attack plot, The Telegraph writes. 

Andi Sami Star, 31, from Chesterfield, and a 22-year-old man from Sheffield have been charged with engaging in the preparation of an act of terrorism, West Yorkshire Police said.

Elizabeth Freeman, also known as “Mum Bett” was born into slavery around 1742 in Claverack, Columbia County, New York.

Her owner, Pieter Hogeboom, gave her to Sheffield, Massachusetts, resident John Ashley when he married Hogeboom’s daughter Annetje. He was known to be one of the most prominent and respected men in western Massachusetts.

Ben Needham family feels grateful for volunteers’ help

The family of missing toddler Ben Needham say they are “eternally grateful” for the volunteers who have been helping with the police search. A team of 19 South Yorkshire Police officers, forensic specialists and an archaeologist are excavating farmland near to where he was last seen playing. Members of the Hellenic Rescue Team and Red Cross are assisting.

Police confirm ancient graves found in search for British toddler

Ancient graves have been unearthed on the Greek Aegean island of Kos in a new search for a British toddler who went missing over two decades ago, police said Friday.

"We have actually found some archaeological remains, weve got four graves which date back at least 1,500 to nearly 2,000 years ago," Detective Inspector Jon Cousins said in a video released by the South Yorkshire Police.
