BELGRADE - The first Film and Chips Festival, which focuses on new British film, will be held simultaneously in 10 cities in Serbia January 16-18, 2015, with identical programs.

The Festival is held in cooperation with the British Council, and according to a statement by Belgrade's Dom omladine, it will premiere some of the most recent work by young British authors.

Four Bulgarians were seriously injured and nine others suffered lighter injuries in a serious traffic accident after midnight.

The incident happened at 24.30 EET near Backa Topola in Serbia.

4 Bulgarian nationals seriously injured

SUBOTICA -- Four citizens of Bulgaria have been seriously injured while nine more received light injuries in a traffic accident that took place late on Wednesday.

The crash occured at 23:30 CET near Backa Topola in northern Serbia and involved a Bulgarian license plates bus.

BELGRADE - The Academy of Central European Schools (ACES) opens a new cycle of contest for cross-border school projects and student exchanges, which will run from January 15 to April 15, and the schools presenting the best projects will get pecuniary awards.

In an interview with a Catholic charity, Aid to the Church in Need, Archbishop Stanislav Hocevar of Belgrade said the reconciliation process was moving ahead more slowly than he would like.

Criminal charges against Bulgarians who smuggled parrots

SUBOTICA -- The police in the northern Serbian town of Subotica on Tuesday found 372 parrots in the trunk of a Bulgarian license plates car.

The vehicle was on its way out of the town when it was discovered.
